COLORFUL FLOWER MEADOWS, THEY PLEASURE OUR HEARTS

Flowering meadows are the jewels of our landscape. Their abundance of colors and shapes, their opulence despite the nutrient-poor subsoil is astounding. But as agriculture intensifies with the use of mineral fertilizers and pesticides, these vibrant ecosystems are becoming increasingly rare. Large green areas for supermarkets, road construction or for commercial buildings and parking lots are sealed every day, which also poses a massive threat to flower meadows.

In recent years, this situation has reached a point where reversal can only be achieved with great effort. Species extinction continues. Excessive meat production creates a lot of manure as a by-product. Silo management enables earlier mowing times and so some flowers hardly have a chance. We are heading towards the “Green Desert”.

Every disappearance of one plant species inevitably means the disappearance of a whole range of other organisms. As with a cog wheel, where the teeth break out one after the other, nature is being damaged more and more, ultimately to the detriment of us humans
